Betonred Privacy Policy · Updated 2026-08-04

A short note on your data.

Betonred does not collect, transmit, or share any personal information.

Betonred is an offline recipe box, pantry tracker and hands-free cook mode with built-in step timers. The pages that follow describe, in plain language, what the app does and does not do with the things you type into it.

I · Collection

Information we collect

None. There is no account, no sign-in and no registration. We never ask for your name, email address, phone number or any other identifier, and we do not derive one from your device or your hardware. Nothing you enter reaches us, because the app has no server to send it to.

II · Storage

What lives on your device

For the app to work, the following is kept in the operating system's local storage, on your phone, and nowhere else:

None of it is uploaded. Uninstalling the app removes every byte.

III · Permissions

What the app asks for

Nothing at all. The Android manifest declares no permissions — not even internet access — and the iOS build requests no usage descriptions. The app cannot reach your camera, microphone, location, contacts, photos or files, because it never asks to.

IV · Network

What goes over the wire

Nothing. Betonred contains no HTTP client, no sync layer and no remote endpoints. All twenty-four recipes are compiled into the app itself, so it behaves identically with the data switched off, in airplane mode, or in a basement with no signal.

One thing is worth naming, because it is the only case where text leaves the app. If you tap Share, Betonred hands a single sentence — the number of meals you have cooked — to your device's own share sheet. It never includes your pantry, shopping list, notes or ratings. Whichever app you pick from that sheet takes over from there, under its own privacy policy.

V · Third parties

Who else is involved

Nobody. There is no analytics SDK, no advertising network, no crash reporter, no attribution or A/B testing framework, and no in-app purchase or billing library anywhere in the project.

The app is built with Flutter and a small set of open-source packages — local database storage, preferences, charts, state management and the system share sheet. Every one of them runs on your device, and none of them contacts a server on our behalf.

VI · Children

Younger readers

Because Betonred collects nothing whatsoever, there is no personal information for us to gather from a child under 13 — or the equivalent minimum age where you live — knowingly or otherwise. The app contains no advertising, no chat, no user-to-user features and no third-party content. Cooking involves heat and sharp tools, so younger cooks should have an adult nearby, but that is a kitchen matter rather than a privacy one.

VII · Your rights

What you can do

Everything the app knows sits on your device, so it is yours to change or destroy at will. You can edit or remove any pantry item, shopping entry or cooking note from inside the app, and clear the shopping list wholesale from the list screen. To erase the lot in one move, uninstall the app or clear its storage in your device settings — that drops the database, your settings and your profile permanently, with no copy anywhere else.

We hold no data about you, so there is nothing for us to export, correct or delete on request. Rights of access, rectification, erasure and portability under the GDPR, the CCPA and comparable laws are satisfied on your device, without needing to write to anyone.

VIII · Revisions

Changes to this policy

If anything in this policy changes, the date at the top of the page will be revised, and material changes will appear in the app's release notes.
